Antibiotics
Antibiotic resistance is a very real threat to both human and animal health globally. As vets, we have a responsibility to use antibiotics responsibly, which means we don’t prescribe them unless absolutely essential. Even then, ideally we should identify which type of bacteria is present before we give your pet antibiotics. Here’s why: https://www.vetspecialists.co.uk/fact-sheets-post/antibiotics-resistance-fact-sheet/
Brachycephalic Obstruction Airway Disease (BOAS)
Breeds such as Frenchies, Pugs, Bulldogs etc are all super cute to look at, and snore adorably on your bed. But that snoring is actually a sign that they can’t breathe properly. Some dogs manage, but many don’t. There are many environmental adaptations that you can make such as never walking them in warm weather, but ultimately surgical correction is the only lasting cure. https://www.vetspecialists.co.uk/fact-sheets-post/brachycephalic-upper-airway-obstruction-syndrome-fact-sheet/
Dental Disease
Most of our pets will suffer from dental disease as they get older and this can be far more serious than smelly breath…

Displaced Canine Teeth: If your puppy has displaced canine teeth they can cause permanent damage to gums and palate if left uncorrected. If diagnosed early we can often correct this through ball therapy.
